Artikel was inspired by a vintage record store logo that combined ornamental capitals with traditional sans serif lowercase letters, similar in feel to the vintage typeface Plaza. The contrast between decorative elegance and geometric simplicity immediately felt like an idea worth exploring.
The family includes a broad selection of alternates, allowing users to shift the tone from decorative and distinctive to clean and understated. Simpler alternate capitals are included for layouts where the ornamental forms may not be suitable. These features can be previewed in the type testers below.
