Dirk is a contemporary interpretation of a "Clarendon" slab serif. Its design lives somewhere between a Clarendon wood type style and a more modern geometric slab serif. It features the thick, bracketed serifs of a Clarendon design, but drawn with the lower contrast and sturdy structure of a geometric slab. The result retains the charm of vintage wood type, but sheds a lot of the over-familiarity of a digital revival.
In 2022, the Dirk family was expanded six regular styles and six matching obliques. Each style is packed with a robust selection of diacritics and special characters for thorough language support.
